Worship Leading's Unseen Reason

There were a lot of Sunday services when I felt that the team and the worship leader didn't deliver. That I would just stand there looking at the congregation while they stare at me holding my bass guitar, waiting for the next song.  It just feels like I'm just our local church's resident performer that warms up the people for the pastor's message.

Is this my call? I ask the question several times. But let's face it. All of us have struggles in this ministry.

1.  There are those who don't like our music
2.  Team members who don't cooperate and worship
3.  Disagreements with the senior pastor or music director
4.  Not enough time to worship
5.  Not enough freedom to express

But besides all these tensions, worship leading matters a lot.  Beyond the music and performance, the only thing that we need is the presence of God.  When everything fades and are stripped away, it's really just about the heart of worship -- God.
