Elements to An Effective Worship Song List

Powerful worship has many elements and one of the most important is your choice of songs, specially during Sunday worship.  I have been to several worship services that did not deliver the kind of impact that most of us hoped to experience every time we gather together and worship God.

But time has been good to me and I've learned every step of the way that it wasn't about me.  The Bible teaches us to worship God in spirit and in truth, giving me a whole new perspective in choosing songs that can be effective in leading people to God's presence.

1. Accessible. Make sure everybody can relate to the genre of the song. If you have a mixed congregation, make sure to choose something that meets halfway.
2. Simple. Choose songs that simply but directly talk about God and the truth.
3. True. It is important that the song itself declares the truth that our minds may disagree at the moment. Teach the word during worship.
4. Space. Worship is not just about singing truth. It's a relationship with Jesus and the worship may involve emotion, connection, love, and adoration.
